ROG Ally X Cooling solutions

Rog Ally X is a portable gaming device; you know it will generate heat when it comes to gaming. For that, you need an optimal cooling solution.

The Asus Rog Ally X has a very robust cooling solution. It has 3 exhaust vents, two are for the APU and one for the motherboard and display panel. All the vents are on top of the gaming device.

It has a single copper heat pipe with a capillary structure that increases capillary pressure by more than 15%; hence, it improves the cooling of the gaming device even when upside-down. Asus calls it an Anti-gravity heatpipe.

Ally X has dual cooling fans with fluid dynamic bearings for less friction even when you hold it in any orientation. It has thinner fans than its predecessor Ally.

The cooling fans are 0.15mm thick with more space for the air to pass between the blade. Thin fans accommodate a larger 80Whr battery by occupying less space but still improve the overall airflow by 10%.

The two air intake vents are covered with dust filters to prevent dust and other foreign particles from entering the fans.

The two heatsinks are lined with ultra-thin aluminum fins of 0.1mm for higher heat dissipation and offer lower air resistance for smoother airflow.

Rog Ally X has a 4.5mm height increase for better hand grip while gaming; it feels more comfortable than Ally. The custom-made 2° and 14° slant keeps the handheld gaming device comfortable in any hands.

Asus has slightly changed the location of the joysticks relative to the D-pad and face buttons, making it easier to move your hands between each button.

It has unique Rog-themed handgrips on the rear and rock-solid stability gives Ally X a secure and attractive quality. The RGB lighting on both the joysticks has an Aura sync support giving the enhanced gaming look.

The power button is placed in a caved-in location close to the reach of your right index finger with a finger scanner on the button allowing you to log in instantly and start playing your games.

Software support

Asus Armoury Crate SE

The Armoury Crate SE software allows you to control TDP values and VRAM allocation, change per-game key bindings, and export or download custom game profiles.

It comes with an improved game library that allows you to customize the visual appearance of the game library.

ACSE also allows you to turn on and off FSR and RSR for high-quality upscaling, AMD Fluid motion for smoother gameplay, and Radeon Anti-Lag for responsive controls in games.

ACSE has been optimized for seamless software and driver updates allowing you to download and update directly from the Armoury crate; From BIOS to graphics driver and more.
